About the role
The Department of Economics at McGill University invites applications for a tenure‑track Assistant Professor specializing in Economic Theory, with an anticipated start date of August 1 2027. The position is based in the Leacock Building on the Montreal campus.
Key responsibilities
- Design and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in economic theory, incorporating contemporary research and pedagogical methods.
- Develop an independent research agenda, publish in leading journals, and secure external research funding.
- Contribute to departmental service, including curriculum development, committee work, and mentorship of students from diverse backgrounds.
Required profile
- PhD in Economics (or near completion) with a strong focus on theoretical work.
- Evidence of outstanding research potential, such as high‑quality working papers or publications.
- Demonstrated ability to teach effectively at both undergraduate and graduate levels and to supervise a diverse student body.
