About the role
The University of British Columbia invites applications for a full‑time, tenure‑track Assistant Professor in Computational Oncology and Single Cell Genomics. The position is research‑focused and will be housed in the Department of Urologic Sciences, with joint appointments at the Vancouver Prostate Centre and the Centre for Urologic Oncology.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and lead an independent research program integrating machine‑learning, single‑cell genomics, and spatial profiling to study urologic cancers.
- Collaborate with clinical and experimental teams to translate computational insights into biomarkers and therapeutic hypotheses.
- Contribute to undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate teaching and mentorship.
- Participate in departmental service and broader university activities.
Required profile
- PhD in a quantitative discipline (e.g., computational biology, bioinformatics, statistics, computer science).
- Post‑doctoral experience in computational oncology, single‑cell analysis, or related fields.
- Strong publication record demonstrating expertise in quantitative and machine‑learning methods.
Required skills
- Machine‑learning and causal inference techniques.
- Single‑cell genomics and spatial profiling analysis.
- Probabilistic modeling and uncertainty quantification.
- Phylogenetic and evolutionary inference, clonal dynamics.
- Immune‑tumour interaction modeling.
- Scalable analysis of large multi‑omics datasets.
