Assistant Housekeeping Manager

About the role

The Assistant Housekeeping Manager supports the daily operations of the housekeeping department at a busy Marriott hotel. You will work closely with supervisors and crew members to ensure guest rooms and public areas meet the brand’s high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and update operational procedures for housekeeping activities.
• Select, purchase, and manage equipment, supplies, and uniforms.
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor the work of housekeeping supervisors and crews.
• Conduct regular inspections of assigned areas to verify cleanliness and compliance.
• Maintain accurate inventory of supplies, equipment, and laundry services.
• Schedule shifts, assign duties, and ensure adequate staffing levels.
• Hire, train, and, when necessary, dismiss housekeeping staff.
• Respond promptly to guest complaints and resolve issues to maintain satisfaction.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation or equivalent experience.
• 3 to less than 5 years of experience in housekeeping or hotel operations.
• Fluency in English (French optional) to meet language requirements.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with attention to detail.
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods, walk, sit, and lift supplies as needed.
