Maintenance Person (with ticket) - Part Time

About the role

Sheraton Suites Calgary Eau Claire, a Fairmont property within Accor and a franchised Marriott property, is looking for a part-time Maintenance Person (with ticket). The role supports the safe and efficient operation of the hotel by responding to maintenance requests, carrying out preventive maintenance and keeping facilities and equipment to luxury hospitality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guest rooms, public spaces and operational areas, and communicate updates to department leaders.
• Perform general maintenance and repairs on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting and building systems, and troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Complete preventive maintenance tasks and work orders accurately and efficiently, and keep guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house facilities to standard.
• Maintain mechanical equipment, pool and hot tub systems and report equipment deficiencies and safety concerns.
• Respond to emergencies such as fire alarms, power outages, water leaks and equipment failures, and ensure tools and machinery stay in safe operating condition.
• Follow hotel policies and Occupational Health & Safety requirements, and complete safety and maintenance documentation.

Required profile

• Valid 5th Class Power Engineer certificate.
• Previous experience in hotel maintenance, building operations, facilities maintenance or a related environment.
• Customer-focused, organized and self-motivated, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Physically able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs and work indoors and outdoors.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada; the employer cannot assist with work authorization.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of building systems and mechanical equipment.
• Use of hand and power tools.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
