Conference Liaison

About the role

Working within the Events, Theatre and Hospitality Services area at Mount Royal University, the Conference Liaison provides flexible, on‑site support for conferences, meetings and events. The role involves variable shifts of at least three hours, up to 35 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome clients and guests, provide directions, information and on‑site assistance.
• Support event set‑up, including room checks, food service verification, signage, coat check and A/V equipment troubleshooting.
• Oversee bar services, restock supplies and assist with direct service when needed.
• Conduct end‑of‑night sweeps of conference spaces to remove catering and materials.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during events, available in person and by phone.
• Assist Event Specialists with event details and provide routine administrative support.
• Help with venue snow removal and other safety measures when required.

Required profile

• High School Diploma.
• 12–18 months of previous experience in event or conference support.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekdays, evenings and weekends.
• Capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
