Advisor, Academic-Industry Partnerships (University of Ottawa)

About the role

Mitacs is seeking an Advisor to lead Academic‑Industry Partnerships at the University of Ottawa. This full‑time, one‑year temporary position bridges researchers, students, and industry partners to create impactful collaborations that drive innovation across Eastern Ontario.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Mitacs Business Development, Research, and Programs teams to deliver high‑quality partnership programming.
• Engage University of Ottawa stakeholders to understand researcher and student needs, identify industry opportunities, and match them with appropriate Mitacs programs.
• Consult with industry partners to assess R&D requirements, connect them with academic experts, and recommend suitable programs.
• Build and maintain a network of industry and academic partners in Ottawa and surrounding regions.
• Provide business development and student engagement support across all Mitacs programs as needed.

Required profile

• Master’s or PhD degree, or equivalent combination of education and research experience.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and French.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities.
