pwc · Montreal
Job description
About the role
PwC Canada is looking for a bilingual (French and English) Risk Modelling Services, Actuarial P&C Senior Associate in Montreal. You will join a team of problem solvers supporting actuarial consulting and transformation work, from strategy to execution. The position follows the departure of a valued team member.
Key responsibilities
- Support teams in actuarial consulting services and transformation initiatives, working closely with senior actuaries on appointed actuary services such as actuarial liability valuation, financial condition testing, product development, advisory services and IFRS 17.
- Help with audit support by re-performing actuarial liability valuations and reviewing valuation methodologies and assumptions, and conclude whether liabilities are fairly presented in the financial statements.
- Analyze client information and support clients with modelling needs for climate, cyber and insurance pricing.
- Collaborate on projects, including cross-functional ones, and share findings and recommendations with non-actuarial teams in a clear, non-technical way.
- Build relationships with clients and help upskill junior staff.
Required profile
- Fluency in English and French; bilingualism is required to support English-speaking clients, colleagues and stakeholders.
- Progressive experience in the P&C insurance industry, including policy liability valuation, financial condition testing, IFRS 17, pricing or predictive modelling.
- Actively pursuing the Canadian Institute of Actuaries qualification (FCIA).
- Experience in a consulting or advisory role, or ability to work in consulting/audit and project-based settings, is an asset.
- Strong written and oral communication, including presenting in a business context.
Required skills
- Proficiency in reserving or statistical applications such as Arius, R or Python.
- Experience with data analytic tools such as Tableau, Alteryx or VBA is an asset.
The salary range is $84,700 - $134,700, depending on skills, experience, qualifications and location. Eligible employees may also take part in variable incentive pay programs. PwC Canada offers a hybrid work environment, and the exact expectations for the team can be discussed with the interviewer.
