Accounts Receivable Specialist (1 Year Contract)

About the role

PointClickCare, a health technology company, is hiring an Accounts Receivable Specialist for a 1-year contract, reporting to the Team Lead, Accounts Receivable. The specialist contacts overdue accounts within an assigned portfolio of strategic customers to collect outstanding balances in a timely manner, and works with internal partners and account reconciliations. The role is based in Mississauga, and hybrid roles expect to live within commuting distance of the office.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate with clients about collections issues, actions, payment inquiries and invoicing, and update customer files with correspondence.
• Recognize billing issues through research and regular reconciliation, and prepare monthly account breakdowns and analysis.
• Prepare and reconcile accounts, unapplied credit balances and credit notes as assigned.
• Coordinate monthly pre-authorized payments with customers and the Payments team.
• Take part in conference calls with customers and internal partners to recover past-due invoices.
• Provide invoice copies, credits and unapplied payment details as required, and complete ad hoc tasks assigned by management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or 3+ years of experience processing accounts receivable; prior accounts receivable experience preferred.
• Prior finance experience is required.
• Ability to build relationships, work cross-functionally and handle confidential information and monetary transactions with a high sense of integrity.
• Strong negotiation and conflict-resolution skills for late-payment discussions, and attention to detail in reconciliations.
• Excellent computer skills and a working understanding of the US health care system is a benefit.
