General Accountant

About the role

PointClickCare, a health technology company, is hiring a full-time General Accountant for its three-person Accounting team in Mississauga. The role reports directly to the Accounting Manager and supports multiple subsidiary accounting functions. It is a hybrid position requiring the ability to work from the Mississauga office, including weekly, bi-weekly or monthly team events.

Key responsibilities

• Reconcile and manage balance sheet accounts, including fixed assets, prepaid assets, accrued payables and bank/cash, and investigate and resolve discrepancies within the month
• Complete monthly, quarterly and annual general ledger close activities accurately and on time
• Review income statement and balance sheet trends against historical data and budgets, resolve issues and document explanations
• Maintain control over general ledger inputs so that system reports are complete and accurate and all attributes are captured correctly
• Work with Accounts Payable and FP&A to resolve general ledger coding discrepancies
• Improve day-to-day and month-end processes while keeping required controls and documentation
• Produce analytics to support management review and ad hoc requests, and liaise with internal parties

Required profile

• 2-3 years of accounting experience
• Solid accounting knowledge and strong analytical and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask, meet deadlines and work independently and as part of a team
• Bonus: degree in Accounting or equivalent, and enrollment or progress toward CPA designation
