Accountant – IFRS Technical Specialist (Hybrid, Toronto)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our finance team in Toronto on a 15‑month fixed‑term basis. The role is hybrid, with four days on‑site, and focuses on complex IFRS accounting issues, external reporting, and policy development.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical accounting guidance on complex IFRS matters.
• Research, analyse, and document accounting treatments for business transactions.
• Prepare accounting memoranda, presentations, and technical updates.
• Review and support the preparation of financial statements, MD&A, and other external reporting documents.
• Monitor emerging accounting standards and assess their impact.
• Collaborate with finance, risk, tax, operations, and other internal stakeholders.
• Support accounting policy development, interpretation, and implementation.
• Participate in special projects and process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• CPA or CA designation.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong experience researching and resolving complex IFRS issues.
• Experience preparing or reviewing external financial statements and disclosures.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
