About the role
The Bank’s Chief Accountant Department seeks an experienced Accountant to provide IFRS‑based technical accounting advisory for the US Retail segment and bank‑wide Expected Credit Losses (ECL). This hybrid position (four days onsite) is contract‑based for 15 months, with potential extension or conversion to permanent.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for US Retail segment and bank‑wide ECL accounting matters.
- Act as subject‑matter expert on ECL, revenue, operating segments, and related IFRS issues.
- Deliver timely, accurate technical accounting advice to business units and corporate stakeholders.
- Translate complex accounting topics into clear guidance and recommendations.
- Conduct technical research, benchmarking, and prepare accounting memoranda and presentation materials.
- Assist in preparing external consolidated shareholder reports, including MD&A, financial statements, notes, and supplemental information.
- Monitor new IFRS pronouncements, provide periodic updates, and develop accounting policy materials.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal partners (Finance, Tax, Risk, IR) and external parties (auditors, advisors).
Required profile
- Strong background in IFRS accounting, particularly ECL and US Retail‑related issues.
- Experience preparing consolidated financial statements and regulatory filings.
- Ability to research, interpret, and communicate complex accounting standards.
- Proven track record of collaborating with cross‑functional finance teams.
