Accountant – Hybrid (4 days onsite) – Contract

About the role

This contract position supports a data‑focused accounting team of ten members in Toronto. Working hybrid – four days onsite and one day remote – you will execute customer transactions accurately, adhere to service level agreements and maintain strict data confidentiality. The role offers a one‑year term with the possibility of extension or conversion based on performance.

Key responsibilities

• Process and validate incoming transactions in line with established guidelines and SLAs.
• Escalate or refer operational issues to appropriate partners to ensure timely resolution.
• Identify and suggest improvements to service delivery and process efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records and complete business processes for the organization and its clients.
• Develop and sustain working relationships with customers, partners and vendors, responding to inquiries promptly.
• Monitor compliance with internal policies, anti‑money‑laundering and data‑privacy regulations.
• Review non‑standard or high‑risk activities and escalate when necessary.

Required profile

• Authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet productivity and SLA targets.
• Excellent judgment in handling confidential information.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
• Willingness to participate in short daily huddles and collaborative team activities.
