Accountant – Full‑Cycle Finance Role in SaaS

About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing Canadian SaaS company, is looking for an Accountant to join a lean finance team. The role combines full‑cycle bookkeeping with analytical reporting that directly supports management decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end bookkeeping: accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank transactions, reconciliations, HST filings and expense reporting.
• Prepare and issue monthly invoices, set up new clients and maintain billing contacts.
• Process vendor and customer payments, follow up on outstanding AR and assist collections.
• Perform AR aging and cash‑flow analyses to aid financial planning.
• Lead month‑end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Produce financial reports and sales analysis for management decision‑making.
• Respond to client billing inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
• Review employee expense reports and support audit requests.
• Assist the CFO and Finance Manager with ad‑hoc analysis.

Required profile

• University degree in Business with an accounting focus.
• 2+ years of full‑cycle accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting standards and bookkeeping fundamentals.
• Ability to prioritize, meet competing deadlines and work independently.
• Professional handling of confidential financial information.

Required skills

• Intermediate Excel proficiency.
• Experience with NetSuite (preferred).
