Principal Mining Consultant – Underground

About the role

Are you an experienced underground mining engineer ready to lead complex projects and shape the growth of a global consulting business? Mining Plus is seeking a Principal Mining Consultant – Underground to provide senior technical leadership and premium consulting services across Canada and internationally.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Scoping, Pre‑Feasibility and Feasibility studies for underground projects.
• Oversee mine planning, design, scheduling and optimisation using industry‑leading software.
• Conduct technical due‑diligence, asset evaluations and operational reviews.
• Prepare and review NI 43‑101 technical reports and other international technical documents.
• Act as a Qualified Person (QP) where required and provide senior technical guidance to clients and project teams.
• Mentor junior engineers, manage multidisciplinary teams and ensure project delivery on time and within budget.
• Develop client relationships, identify new business opportunities and support proposal development.

Required profile

• 15+ years of mining experience with at least 5 years in operational underground mining.
• Professional engineering licence (P.Eng. or equivalent) and experience acting as a Qualified Person under NI 43‑101.
• Degree in Mining Engineering, Mineral Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven track record leading technical teams and delivering complex underground projects.
• Strong communication, report writing and presentation skills.
