Plumber Prefabrication Shop Foreman

About the role

Hall Mechanical is seeking a dedicated Mechanical Plumber Prefabrication Shop Foreman to lead its Coquitlam shop. You will oversee all shop activities, ensuring safe, accurate, and on‑time fabrication of mechanical assemblies while developing the skills of assemblers and apprentices.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and assign work to meet production targets and project deadlines.
• Manage time entry, labor costing and material inventory.
• Monitor output for compliance with drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Create and maintain SOPs for workstations and safety processes.
• Coordinate with project managers, field supervisors and procurement.
• Lead a team of welders, pipefitters, assemblers and laborers.
• Provide training, coaching and performance evaluations.
• Inspect completed assemblies for accuracy and compliance.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety meetings and job hazard assessments.
• Prepare reports on shop performance, tool status and staff development.

Required profile

• Journeyperson certification in plumbing or a related trade.
• Proven experience supervising a prefabrication or shop environment.
• Strong leadership, communication and organizational abilities.
• Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of fabrication methods, welding and rigging.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and scheduling or inventory software.
