Mechanical Engineer-in-Training (EIT) – Calgary

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer‑in‑Training to join our Calgary office. You will work alongside experienced engineers on a variety of building‑services projects, gaining hands‑on experience in HVAC, plumbing, drainage and fire‑protection design.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the design of mechanical building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection.
• Prepare drawings, calculations, equipment schedules, specifications, and engineering reports.
• Coordinate designs with architectural, structural, electrical, and other disciplines.
• Participate in client meetings, design coordination meetings, and site reviews.
• Perform site investigations and document existing conditions.
• Review shop drawings and support construction administration activities.
• Ensure designs comply with building codes, standards, and company practices.
• Contribute to energy‑efficient and sustainable building design solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Registered (or eligible) as an Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT).
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A collaborative attitude and desire to learn from experienced professionals.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Experience with Revit (considered an asset).
