Sprinkler Fitter

About the role

Classic Fire + Life Safety is seeking a Sprinkler Fitter to join its Calgary team. You will be the front‑line representative delivering safe, high‑quality fire protection installations and maintenance for a variety of commercial and industrial projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform sprinkler system installations safely, following CFLS procedures and site‑specific safety regulations.
• Create and submit weekly progress reports and crew time‑sheets.
• Coordinate with general contractors, trades, and vendors to secure lay‑down areas and on‑site storage.
• Attend job meetings, resolve installation conflicts, and communicate scope changes to the project team.
• Control site inventory, track materials, and maintain a two‑week look‑ahead schedule.
• Notify owners or general contractors of emergency shut‑down procedures upon system activation.
• Schedule and oversee testing with the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) and obtain sign‑off.
• Conduct weekly toolbox talks, review Job Hazard Analyses, and ensure PPE compliance.
• Maintain daily logs, track RFIs and change orders, and mentor installation crew members.

Required profile

• Member in good standing of Local 496.
• Ability to perform physical labour, including lifting up to 50 lb and working at heights or in confined spaces.
• Capability to read and interpret construction blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
• Valid driver’s licence with a clean record.
• Flexibility to work varied hours and adhere to strict safety guidelines.
