Mechanical Designer – Jigs & Fixtures

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Designer to create jigs and fixtures for welding, assembly and inspection of our advanced mechanical enclosure systems. The role works in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, reporting to the Method Specialist and collaborating with Production, Quality and Engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Generate concepts and detailed designs for jigs and fixtures using SolidWorks.
• Select appropriate components, materials and fasteners to meet functional and cost targets.
• Create manufacturing drawings, bills of materials and release routing documentation.
• Validate designs for manufacturability, GD&T compliance and cost.
• Support production by troubleshooting assembly or fabrication issues.
• Participate in cross‑functional brainstorming sessions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on mechanical design experience.
• Strong technical aptitude with a proactive, hands‑on approach.
• Fluent in English and French.

Required skills

• SolidWorks (advanced proficiency).
• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Design of weldments and sheet‑metal components.
