Management Consultant – Mining

About the role

Accenture’s Canada Natural Resources practice is looking for a Management Consultant to help leading mining companies close the gap between investment and outcomes across the full Mine‑to‑Market chain. You will work directly with senior leaders and on‑site teams to translate operational insight into strategic, board‑room‑ready recommendations.

Key responsibilities

• Assess client performance across the mining value chain—from exploration to logistics—and identify opportunities for cost, capital efficiency and enterprise value improvement.
• Structure opportunities in business terms such as cost per tonne, throughput, asset utilisation and EBITDA impact.
• Develop and pressure‑test strategic recommendations, business cases and investment rationales for senior stakeholders.
• Design integrated solutions that combine process, people and technology, choosing the right lever for maximum value.
• Support technology‑enabled transformation initiatives, ensuring they are grounded in operational reality and deliver measurable outcomes.
• Lead implementation workstreams alongside client teams, moving from recommendation to execution and sustained value delivery.
• Build credibility with site‑level technical teams and create executive‑ready communications for sponsors and corporate leaders.
• Contribute to practice development through proposals, thought leadership and knowledge sharing, while coaching junior team members.

Required profile

• Working knowledge of the mining value chain and how decisions at each stage affect the bottom line.
• Ability to diagnose operational problems with structured analysis rather than symptom description.
• Comfort interacting with site technical teams, project offices and corporate leadership.
• Quantitative grounding to build and stress‑test business cases.
• Pragmatic mindset focused on realistic implementation over theoretical slides.
• Willingness to work on‑site with clients as project demands require.
