Lead Hand Field Service Technician

About the role

Sandvik Mining is looking for a Lead Hand Field Service Technician to perform advanced troubleshooting, inspection, repair, commissioning and maintenance of mining equipment at customer sites across Ontario. The role combines hands‑on technical work with leadership, coaching and mentorship of a field service team to ensure high‑quality service delivery and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Perform advanced repairs, inspections and commissioning of mining equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues.
• Provide technical support and recommend equipment improvements.
• Prepare service reports, failure analyses and related documentation.
• Maintain service tools and equipment for safe field work.
• Lead field service activities and give technical direction to technicians.
• Coach, train and mentor team members on service methods and best practices.
• Support work planning, task coordination and quality execution.
• Build strong customer relationships through responsive, professional service.
• Promote safety, teamwork and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Field Service Technician in the mining or heavy‑equipment sector.
• Strong leadership and coaching abilities.
• Ability to work independently on‑site and travel to remote mine locations.
• Commitment to safety and compliance with relevant regulations.
