Heavy Duty Mechanic – Field Service (Surface & Underground)

About the role

Sandvik Mining is looking for a licensed Heavy Duty Mechanic to join its Field Service team across Central Canada. You will work on both surface and underground mining equipment, providing troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance services while ensuring safe and reliable operation.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect equipment, diagnose faults, and determine corrective actions.
• Repair or replace defective mechanical and electrical components according to work orders.
• Test repaired equipment to verify proper performance.
• Commission new machinery and provide on‑site training to customers.
• Complete accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives and adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies.

Required profile

• Relevant trade certification (Red Seal certification is an asset).
• Minimum of 3 years experience with heavy‑equipment maintenance.
• Experience with mining equipment preferred.
• Commitment to safety, including risk assessments and incident reporting.
