Development Coordinator – Library

About the role

The Development Coordinator, Library supports the planning and delivery of fundraising programs that build lasting relationships with donors, alumni, and students. Reporting to senior development leadership, the role works closely with faculty, staff, and external partners to advance UBC’s strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design and implementation of new initiatives that align with UBC’s strategic plan.
• Maintain donor recognition, acknowledgement, and stewardship programs.
• Manage and expertly use the university’s donor and alumni database.
• Participate in ongoing fundraising planning, practice, and process development.
• Write solicitation materials, correspondence, and draft fundraising proposals for senior management.
• Prepare analytical reports and ensure accurate processing of gifts, pledges, and receipts.
• Develop and maintain internal processes and procedures, and attend events with flexible hours.

Required profile

• Experience in fundraising, donor relations, or alumni engagement within a higher‑education environment.
• Strong written communication skills for donor outreach and proposal development.
• Ability to analyze data and produce clear reports for senior leaders.
• Detail‑oriented with a commitment to accurate gift processing and record‑keeping.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and represent the university at events.
