1-Year Lecturer in Health & Exercise Sciences

About the role

The School of Health & Exercise Sciences at the University of British Columbia Okanagan Campus seeks a full‑time, 1‑year Lecturer to begin on August 1, 2026 (or mutually agreed date). The position focuses on delivering undergraduate courses and contributing to the school’s academic community.

Key responsibilities

• Teach up to eight sections per year, including possible summer courses, across topics such as social determinants of health, health program evaluation, human motor behaviour, lifespan physical and motor development, physical dimensions of aging, and concussion.
• Provide service to the School of Health & Exercise Sciences, attend departmental meetings, and participate in university and community activities.
• Maintain in‑person delivery modes and uphold equity, diversity, and inclusion principles in the classroom.

Required profile

• PhD in Health and Exercise Sciences or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum of two years of university‑level teaching experience at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Demonstrated teaching effectiveness in the listed subject areas.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
