Inclusive Child Care Worker – Internal Posting

About the role

Join BGC Okanagan’s Inclusive Child Care (ICC) Model as an Inclusive Child Care Worker. You will support children with diverse developmental and support needs in a collaborative, community‑based setting, helping families access inclusive childcare.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in assessment, goal setting and program planning for each child.
• Deliver physical, recreational, educational, social and vocational activities in childcare, after‑school or life‑skills programs.
• Implement inclusion strategies outlined in each child’s support plan and monitor progress.
• Identify and liaise with community services that meet children’s social, economic, educational and vocational needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation, including daily case notes and program reports.

Required profile

• Diploma in a human or social service field.
• At least one year of experience working with children and youth with support needs, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and reliable vehicle for travel between sites.
• Current First Aid certification or willingness to obtain one.
• ECE or ECE Assistant certification is an asset.
