Program Leader – School Age Childcare (Part-Time)

About the role

BGC Okanagan is seeking a part-time Program Leader to support its School Age Childcare program at the Rutland Club in Kelowna, BC. The role involves creating safe, engaging after-school experiences for children and supervising activities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and deliver diverse recreational, social, and educational programming for school‑age children.
• Orient new families and members to the program and club, and maintain open communication with parents/caregivers.
• Provide direct supervision, ensuring health, safety, and wellness of participants.
• Mentor and guide Activity Leaders within the program.
• Transport members using club vans when required and prepare nutritious snacks and meals.
• Manage group and individual behaviour, and ensure compliance with agency policies, licensing regulations, and safety standards.

Required profile

• Education in childcare or experience planning, implementing, and evaluating childcare programs.
• At least one year of recent related experience.
• First Aid Certificate and Food Safe certification or willingness to obtain them.
• Class 5 driver’s licence with willingness to obtain Class 4.
• Must be at least 19 years of age and pass a criminal record check.
