Structural Engineer – Toronto

About the role

Fast + Epp is seeking a Structural Engineer to join its Toronto office. You will create structural schemes for typical construction types, balancing design, construction, and cost considerations while collaborating with architects, consultants, and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and compare structural schemes and design strategy documents.
• Perform design tasks across a wide range of structural elements.
• Conduct construction reviews and resolve design conflicts.
• Present structural schemes to architects and other engineers.
• Coordinate structural design with architectural and non‑structural requirements.
• Provide solutions for construction errors and unforeseen site conditions.
• Mentor junior engineers and read contracts for own projects.
• Set and maintain project budgets, prepare invoices, and manage project documentation.
• Lead internal project meetings, maintain minutes, and coordinate with BIM staff.
• Manage project scope, additional services, and collaborate with other project managers on workload and deadlines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in civil/structural engineering.
• Minimum four years of structural engineering experience, including at least one year of construction‑stage experience.
• Strong ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical solutions.
