Construction Manager

About the role

Shake Shack Canada is looking for an experienced Construction Manager to lead on‑site activities for its restaurant projects across the Greater Toronto Area. The role ensures safe, timely, and on‑budget delivery while coordinating with contractors, landlords, and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project schedules to ensure timely progress and completion.
• Supervise construction activities, managing communications with general contractors, landlords, and equipment vendors.
• Monitor project progress, drive adherence to schedule and budget, and enforce contract documents.
• Identify and resolve timeline or budget challenges, ensuring high‑quality workmanship.
• Provide onsite direction to resolve site conditions and scope gaps.
• Attend weekly site meetings with stakeholders across multiple GTA locations.
• Document challenges, lessons learned, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Coordinate facility‑management training and create utility‑location documentation.
• Manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Conduct regular site inspections to identify and address potential issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in commercial construction project management.
• At least 2 years as a site supervisor or coordinator, with hands‑on trade management.
• Experience in quick‑service restaurant (QSR) or food‑and‑beverage construction.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, self‑motivated, and strong problem‑solving ability.
• In‑depth knowledge of construction procedures, materials, and project‑management principles.
• PMP certification is an asset.
