About the role
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, analysis, and manufacturing support of nuclear components. The role involves close collaboration with clients and internal teams to ensure safe, compliant, and cost‑effective solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Perform technical reviews of contracts, specifications, and drawings to identify product or manufacturing risks.
- Conduct engineering calculations, research, and create custom designs for nuclear components.
- Develop manufacturing process plans, including bills of material, drawing packages, and weld/braze designs.
- Plan and oversee project scopes, track progress, and manage prototype manufacturing and qualification data.
- Collaborate with Sales, Applications, Quality, and Production to ensure designs meet nuclear safety standards.
- Investigate mechanical failures, troubleshoot production issues, and support tooling and process improvements.
Required profile
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) licence with Professional Engineers Ontario.
- 5+ years of engineering experience in the nuclear sector or a similarly regulated industry.
- Hands‑on experience in custom fabrication or manufacturing environments.
Required skills
- Proficiency with 3D CAD software – SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of ASME, IEEE and 10 CFR design standards.
- Understanding of quality‑assurance frameworks and nuclear regulatory requirements.

- Salary range $95,000‑$105,000 per year.
