About the role
Alcove Construction Ltd. is seeking a reliable Heavy Equipment Operator to join its outdoor grading and excavation team in Winnipeg. The role involves operating a range of machinery safely while supporting demolition and site preparation projects.
Key responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as backhoe excavators, loaders and graders on construction sites.
- Conduct pre‑operational checks, clean, lubricate and refill equipment tanks.
- Secure special attachments and perform minor equipment repairs.
- Maintain accurate logs, complete accident reports and follow MSDS guidelines.
- Communicate via two‑way radios and coordinate with site personnel.
Required profile
- Secondary school graduation or equivalent experience.
- 2 to less than 3 years of experience operating construction equipment.
- Occupational Health and Safety Certificate.
Required skills
- Backhoe excavator operation.
- Loader and front‑end loader operation.
- Grader operation.
- Hydraulic pumping system operation.
- Equipment maintenance and minor repairs.
