NBS/MOD Mechanic – Winnipeg

About the role

KONE is seeking an NBS/MOD Mechanic based in Manitoba to analyze, problem‑solve and collaborate on elevator installation and modernization projects, ensuring safety and timely progress. The role involves working with subcontractors, general contractors and consultants to meet project timelines and report progress to the supervisor. Safety on site and adherence to standard practices are core priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Manually assemble and install major elevator components such as rails, pits, hoist‑way equipment, car and counterweight assemblies, and machine‑room equipment.
• Wire and install smaller elevator components including roller guides, door tracks, linkages, hall buttons and lanterns, ensuring correct color‑coded wiring.
• Ensure all work is performed safely in accordance with safety standards and policies.
• Support site safety and adhere to standard practices and policies throughout the project.

Required profile

• Hold a Manitoba Class M electrical license, have completed the CEIEP program and possess a valid Mechanic’s card.
• Ability to speak and write clearly for internal and external communications.
• Strong concentration and attention while intermittently wiring, installing, maintaining and updating elevator equipment.
• Physical ability to walk/stand, lift up to 100 lb and perform repetitive stooping, bending and crouching.
