Course Lecturer – Visual Communication 1 (URBP 609)

About the role

We are seeking a Course Lecturer to teach Visual Communication 1 (URBP 609) for the School of Urban Planning. The role involves delivering a 1‑credit module on visual representation of spatial and urban data, hand rendering, and graphic communication to professional planning audiences.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and studio sessions on Tuesdays from 8:30 am to 11:30 am.
• Prepare and present course materials covering basics of visual representation, hand rendering techniques, and graphic communication principles.
• Assess student work and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain a supportive learning environment for diverse student groups.

Required profile

• Graduate degree in architecture or urban design (PhD preferred).
• Professional experience in architecture, community design, or urban planning.
• Prior studio teaching experience in a Montreal setting.
