Course Lecturer – Communication in Education (EDEC 203-001)

About the role

McGill University’s Department of Integrated Studies in Education seeks a Course Lecturer to teach the Fall 2026 semester of EDEC 203-001, Communication in Education. The role involves delivering a 3‑credit, face‑to‑face course focused on written and oral communication strategies for pre‑service teachers.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and facilitate classroom activities on communication in education.
• Assess student work and provide feedback on writing and speaking assignments.
• Participate in course coordination and planning meetings at least two weeks before the start date.
• Utilize MyCourses or similar LMS for course materials and grading.
• Incorporate blended learning techniques and, when needed, Zoom for supplemental sessions.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a relevant field (or equivalent professional experience).
• Expert knowledge of the course content and the Quebec Education Program.
• Familiarity with the professional competencies set by the Ministère de l’Éducation.
• Previous successful experience teaching similar courses to pre‑service teachers.
• Experience teaching in the Quebec school system is an asset.
• Commitment to teamwork and equity‑diversity principles.

Required skills

• Experience using Zoom or other video‑conferencing tools.
