Construction Superintendent

About the role

The Superintendent reports directly to the Vice President of Field Operations and is responsible for daily management of construction activities on assigned job sites. This role ensures that work teams, subcontractors, and JCB employees collaborate effectively while adhering to plans, schedules, and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate all work on the job site, maintaining a constant on‑site presence to supervise and resolve technical issues.
• Lead and supervise both subcontractor crews and JCB employees.
• Determine material, equipment, and labor requirements and keep project schedules up to date.
• Collaborate closely with the Project Manager and communicate any major changes that could affect the project.
• Monitor and control internal and contracted labor hours, submitting accurate time reports to payroll.
• Welcome all site stakeholders following established health‑and‑safety procedures.
• Ensure compliance with company health‑and‑safety standards and review subcontractors’ safety documentation.
• Document progress with weekly photos and daily reports.
• Perform any other related duties as required.

Required profile

• Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in construction or a related field.
• Minimum ten (10) years of experience as a Superintendent on commercial, industrial, or institutional projects.
• Broad experience with new construction, major renovations, and large‑scale interior fit‑outs.
• Experience supervising projects valued at $10 M +.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to use general office tools for reporting and documentation.
