Assistant Professor (Clinical) – Rheumatology

About the role

The Department of Medicine, Division of Rheumatology at McGill University seeks a full‑time Contract Academic Staff member at the rank of Assistant Professor (clinical). Based at St. Mary’s Hospital Centre, the role combines clinical practice with a strong focus on teaching the next generation of physicians.

Key responsibilities

• Provide rheumatology consult services and run a weekly outpatient clinic at Lakeshore General Hospital.
• Deliver both didactic and bedside teaching to medical students and postgraduate trainees in Internal Medicine, General Internal Medicine, and Family Medicine programs.
• Lead and coordinate teaching activities at the hospital and CIUSSS levels, ensuring high‑quality educational experiences.
• Participate in clinical innovation, research projects, and quality‑improvement initiatives within the Division of Rheumatology.
• Collaborate with other McGill‑affiliated institutions to enhance interdisciplinary education.

Required profile

• Medical degree with board certification in Rheumatology.
• Eligibility to practice clinically in Quebec.
• Demonstrated experience in medical teaching and curriculum development.
• Leadership abilities to oversee educational programs and mentor trainees.
• Excellent communication skills in English (and French preferred).
