Virtual Hospitalist (Physician) – Remote in BC

About the role

Teladoc Health Canada is seeking a licensed physician to provide virtual hospitalist services to in‑patients across British Columbia. Working from the comfort of your home, you will deliver first‑line care through Teladoc’s purpose‑built digital platform, supporting on‑site teams and helping address critical gaps in rural and remote health services.

Key responsibilities

• Join a team of virtual hospitalists collaborating with on‑site clinicians to support general wards.
• Evaluate, diagnose, treat and manage in‑patients, including ordering and reviewing labs and imaging.
• Participate in patient rounds, huddles and interdisciplinary meetings, ensuring effective handovers between shifts.
• Collaborate with remote physicians, nurses and medical leadership to prioritize cases and escalate complex situations.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communication through Teladoc’s virtual platforms.

Required profile

• Current, unrestricted licensure with CPSBC and CCFP designation (CFPC Board Certification).
• 1–3 years of clinical experience as a hospitalist.
• Commitment to equitable, high‑quality care delivered virtually.
• Comfort with learning and using digital health platforms and EMRs.
• Experience in the digital health sector is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with digital health platforms.
• Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
