Veterinary Technician

About the role

Midtown Veterinary Hospital is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our team in Victoria. You will work closely with veterinarians to provide high‑quality care for animals undergoing treatment, surgery, and routine health services.

Key responsibilities

• Collect samples and perform laboratory tests.
• Handle, restrain and care for animals during treatment and surgery.
• Produce diagnostic radiographs.
• Assist veterinarians before, during and after surgical procedures.
• Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and prescribed treatments.
• Counsel clients on animal health care and provide wound and bandage care.

Required profile

• College, CEGEP or equivalent certificate/diploma (1‑2 year program) in veterinary technology or related field.
• 7 months to less than 1 year of relevant experience.
• Willingness to work day and/or evening shifts.

Required skills

• Sample collection and laboratory testing.
• Diagnostic radiography.
• Animal handling and restraint.
• Surgical assistance.
• Medication preparation and administration.
