Venture Manager – Creative Destruction Lab

About the role

The Venture Manager will support the Creative Destruction Lab (CDL) at UBC Sauder, a high‑impact program that accelerates science‑based technology startups. Working closely with the Associate Director, the role ensures smooth day‑to‑day operations, venture recruitment and cohort management.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate potential venture opportunities and build targeted recruitment lists.
• Lead venture recruiting activities, engaging early‑stage startups to join the CDL cohort.
• Provide account management for participating ventures, serving as the primary point of contact throughout the program.
• Assist in planning and delivering CDL programming, workshops, and mentorship sessions.
• Coordinate operational logistics, reporting, and stakeholder communications.

Required profile

• Experience in venture recruiting, business development, or startup ecosystem support.
• Strong understanding of early‑stage technology ventures and innovation ecosystems.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
