Junior Category Manager – Outdoor & New Business (Fixed‑Term)

About the role
Article is looking for a Junior Category Manager to lead the Outdoor & New Business category for a 15‑month fixed‑term covering a parental leave. You will own the seasonal line plan, protect margins and work closely with design, sourcing and planning teams from October 2026 to January 2028.
Key responsibilities
- Execute the outdoor category line plan, monitoring sales velocity, gross‑margin targets and inventory levels on a weekly basis.
- Analyse customer return data and product feedback to identify quality risks and implement corrective actions.
- Develop pricing architecture and tactical promotions to clear aging inventory while protecting profitability.
- Lead end‑to‑end product lifecycle management, including phased exits and promotional transitions.
- Partner with Design, Sourcing and Planning to translate analysis into actionable recommendations and execute them.
- Communicate seasonal strategy and product vision to Marketing and Campaign teams.
- Conduct post‑season market and competitive analysis to inform future outdoor line expansion.
Required profile
- Minimum 2 years experience in category management, merchandising or e‑commerce, preferably in furniture or décor.
- Strong analytical mindset with solid knowledge of category‑management, merchandising, marketing and sales principles.
- Proven ability to multitask, adapt to shifting priorities and deliver high‑quality work under tight deadlines.
- Collaborative approach with a track record of building productive cross‑functional partnerships.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada and willingness to complete a criminal background check.
