UNIX Systems Administrator

About the role

The Unix Operations team is looking for a skilled UNIX Systems Administrator to manage and enhance the Linux infrastructure supporting brokerage services. You will work with a variety of operating systems, hardware platforms, and enterprise services to ensure high availability and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve production‑impacting incidents in compute and storage environments.
• Collaborate with networking, database, and hosted‑solution teams to coordinate outage resolution.
• Perform proactive health checks, hygiene tasks, and compliance activities.
• Test and certify new hardware and software in partnership with engineering groups.
• Participate in weekend projects for onboarding new UNIX assets and datacenter build‑outs.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience in a similar UNIX/Linux administration role.
• Strong knowledge of Red Hat Linux (or other Linux distributions) and Solaris.
• Experience with enterprise services such as DNS, DHCP, NTP, Kerberos, SSHD, PXE, SFTP, HTTPD, Docker.
• Ability to write intermediate to complex scripts (KSH, Bash, Perl, Python).
• Familiarity with configuration‑management tools and Red Hat Satellite/Quattor.
