Truck & Trailer Mechanic

About the role

Manitoulin Transport, which has provided transportation and logistics solutions across North America for 65 years, is hiring one full-time Truck & Trailer Mechanic in Prince Albert. The shift runs Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:30 (5x8), starting at $26.50 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Perform service and repairs to equipment as assigned, coding and completing work orders and paperwork.
• Work safely in line with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and company policies.
• Remove and replace brakes, brake drums, hubs, seals, bearings, races and related parts.
• Troubleshoot and repair emissions, electrical and lighting systems.
• Repair or replace chassis components such as springs, spring hangers, equalizers, slider assemblies, axles, subframes and air ride suspension parts.
• Repair or replace bumpers, mud flap brackets, dolly legs and other parts requiring welding or cutting with an oxy-acetylene torch.
• Repair or replace flooring, rub rails, doors, door trim, roof panels and nose panels.
• Clean your own area during and after each shift and assist with other tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Valid Class 5 licence at minimum.
• Truck & Trailer Mechanics licence.
• CVIP licence.
• Timely and regular attendance according to the scheduled shift.
