Trimmer Operator – Sawmill

About the role

We are looking for a diligent Trimmer Operator to join our sawmill team. The role involves converting raw logs into finished lumber while ensuring precision and safety. You will work 40 hours per week in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment.

Key responsibilities

• Examine logs and rough lumber to determine optimal cutting patterns.
• Saw, trim and plane rough lumber into dressed pieces of various dimensions.
• Monitor the movement of logs and lumber to guarantee cuts meet specifications.
• Clean, lubricate and perform routine maintenance on sawmill equipment.
• Report any delays, mechanical issues or accidents promptly.
• Observe machine operation continuously and generate required reports.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation (high school) certificate.
• Experience in a sawmill or related wood‑processing environment is an asset.
• Strong manual dexterity, attention to detail and hand‑eye coordination.
• Ability to work well in a team, stay organized and manage time effectively.
