Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Finance

About the role

McGill’s Desautels Faculty of Management seeks an Assistant Professor in Finance to join its tenure‑track faculty. The appointment begins on August 1, 2027 and is open to candidates with a Ph.D. (or near‑completion) in Finance, Economics or a related discipline.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct high‑quality research in finance and publish in top‑ranked journals.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate finance courses and supervise doctoral students.
• Contribute to the administration of the Finance Area and the Desautels Faculty.
• Engage with research institutes such as the Desmarais Global Finance Research Centre.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Finance, Economics or a related field (or a doctoral candidate completing by Dec 2027).
• Demonstrated potential for an innovative, impactful research agenda publishable in leading finance journals.
• Evidence of effective teaching and a record appropriate to an early‑career academic.
• Commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion; willingness to work in an English‑language environment (French knowledge desirable).
