Temporary Part-Time Registered Practical Nurse – Medicine

About the role

This temporary part‑time role supports the Medicine unit at Groves Memorial Community Hospital. The Registered Practical Nurse will provide direct patient care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and ensure safe medication administration.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Medicine unit.
• Administer medications, including IV therapies, following hospital protocols.
• Perform physical assessments and document patient observations accurately.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, allied health professionals, and patients' families.
• Participate in shift handovers and maintain a safe, clean work environment.

Required profile

• Current registration with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Ability to complete an IV course and IV medication administration within three months of hire.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting.
• Reliable attendance and satisfactory performance record.
• Successful police vulnerable sector check and pre‑employment health assessment.
