Technology Strategist & Advisor (Remote/Hybrid)

About the role

Matrix, a boutique consulting and professional services firm, seeks experienced independent professionals to join its contractor network as Technology Strategists and Advisors. This is a senior-level, project-based advisory role for technology professionals who can advise executives and build practical technology strategies. Work is remote or hybrid, with client-site assignments as required.

Key responsibilities

• Assess technology environments and develop technology strategies, roadmaps and risk assessments
• Advise executives, CIOs and CTOs on cloud strategy, digital transformation, cybersecurity, data governance and technology investments
• Support digital transformation, modernization of legacy systems and implementation planning
• Evaluate enterprise systems and recommend vendor-neutral solutions
• Support vendor evaluation, RFPs and procurement from a technology and operational perspective
• Prepare executive briefings, risk reports and strategic recommendations
• Manage projects independently using Matrix's online project-management platform, including client-site visits when needed

Required profile

• 7-15+ years of technology strategy, IT consulting, technology leadership, enterprise architecture or digital transformation experience
• Demonstrated experience advising on technology strategy and managing advisory engagements independently
• Ability to communicate complex technical topics to executives and non-technical stakeholders
• Asset: experience in law firms, healthcare, government, courts, financial or regulated sectors
• Asset: certifications such as CISSP, CISM, PMP, ITIL, AWS or Microsoft certifications

Required skills

• Enterprise architecture, cloud strategy, cybersecurity and information governance
• Knowledge of AWS, Microsoft Azure, enterprise applications and AI/automation is an asset
