About the role
The Teaching Assistant will support the Summer 2026 "Exploring the World of STEM" course offered by McGill University's School of Continuing Studies. This fixed‑term role is open to current graduate students and involves both online and in‑person instructional activities.
Key responsibilities
- Attend all course sessions and prepare by reviewing required and supplemental materials.
- Assist the lecturer with class delivery, student learning, and communication via email, myCourses, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom.
- Lead three hours of virtual tutorials each week and hold virtual office hours.
- Manage online discussion boards, respond to student questions, and facilitate group discussions.
- Grade exams and other assessments, and be present during midterms and final exams.
- Maintain confidentiality of course matters and treat all students equitably.
Required profile
- Current Masters or PhD student at McGill University in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the course subject matter.
- Experience using the myCourses learning platform.
- Excellent academic record and strong command of English.
- Authorized to work in Canada and willing to work in Quebec.

What we offer
- Hourly salary of $37.34 CAD.
- 45 total work hours for the term (July 13 – August 1, 2026).
