Tax Advisor & Preparer (Hybrid – Travel Required)

About the role

The Tax Advisor & Preparer works directly with FBC members to understand their financial situation and deliver tailored tax strategies that minimise short‑ and long‑term tax liabilities. In addition to preparing and planning taxes, the role introduces members to FBC’s full suite of services, including bookkeeping, payroll, legal assistance and access to financial and estate planning professionals. Support may also extend to estate planning, retirement planning and cash‑flow management as member needs arise.

Key responsibilities

• Provide accurate tax and accounting advice to members.
• Collect member information and prepare T1 (individual) and T2 (corporate) tax returns.
• Build and maintain strong relationships, encouraging referrals and long‑term engagement.
• Identify member needs and connect them with appropriate specialists within the company.
• Maintain accurate records of all member interactions and services provided.
• Perform other duties as required.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years experience in a tax preparation or accounting firm.
• Proficiency with tax preparation and accounting software; Taxprep and Xero preferred (iFirm knowledge an asset).
• Experience preparing tax returns for farms and small businesses.
• Experience preparing both individual and corporate tax returns.
