Tax Advisor & Preparer (Hybrid, Travel Required)

About the role

FBC is seeking a Tax Advisor & Preparer to work directly with its members, delivering personalized tax strategies and comprehensive financial guidance. This hybrid position combines office work in Barrie with daily travel to members' businesses across urban and remote locations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide accurate tax and accounting advice to members.
• Prepare and file T1 and T2 tax returns for individuals, farms, small businesses, and corporations.
• Build and maintain strong member relationships, encouraging referrals and long‑term engagement.
• Identify member needs and connect them with other specialists within FBC.
• Participate in community events to increase visibility and strengthen relationships.
• Maintain accurate records of all member interactions and services provided.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a tax preparation or accounting firm.
• Client‑focused with strong communication skills.
• Motivated to build lasting relationships and provide trusted financial guidance.
• Valid driver’s licence, vehicle registration, and reliable vehicle for daily travel.

Required skills

• Proficiency with tax preparation software – Taxprep.
• Experience using accounting software – Xero.
• Knowledge of iFirm (considered an asset).
