Tax Advisor & Preparer – Client‑Focused Tax Specialist

About the role

FBC is seeking a Tax Advisor & Preparer to work directly with its members in Edmonton. The role combines tax preparation, strategic planning, and client relationship building, requiring daily travel to members’ businesses and occasional office work.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate T1 and T2 tax returns for farms, small businesses, and corporations.
• Provide tax and accounting advice tailored to each member’s financial situation.
• Identify additional member needs and connect them with FBC specialists (bookkeeping, payroll, legal, estate planning).
• Maintain detailed records of all member interactions and services delivered.
• Participate in community events to increase brand visibility and strengthen relationships.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a tax preparation or accounting firm.
• Experience preparing tax returns for farms, small businesses, and corporations.
• Valid driver’s licence, vehicle registration and a reliable vehicle for daily travel.
• Strong client‑service orientation and ability to build long‑term relationships.

Required skills

• Proficiency with tax preparation software – Taxprep.
• Proficiency with accounting software – Xero.
• Familiarity with iFirm (considered an asset).
