Steward – Food & Beverage Services (Rotational)

About the role

We are seeking a Steward to support food and beverage operations aboard the MV Saga X, a floatel vessel operating near Squamish, BC. The role is rotational, with 28 days on‑board followed by 14 days off.

Key responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and sanitisation of galley areas, including dishwashing, pot washing, equipment cleaning and floor sanitising.
• Maintain public dining spaces, service counters, washrooms, storage rooms, walk‑in coolers/freezers and service hallways.
• Segregate and collect waste (food, recyclable, general) and transport it to waste transfer points.
• Monitor and replenish dining area, grab‑&‑go, café supplies and consumables such as utensils, plates, cups, condiments and beverages.
• Replenish cold buffet line menu items and stock reusable containers for galley and guest use.
• Assist storekeeper and cooks with moving, unpackaging and locating provisions in dry, cool and frozen storerooms.
• Complete daily work checklists and follow supervisor schedules, ensuring safety and PPE use at all times.

Required profile

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
• Preference for experience in a high‑volume production kitchen.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays on a rotational basis.
• Ability to pass pre‑employment drug and alcohol screening, marine medical exam and physical‑demand assessment.
• Commitment to obtain required certifications (MED Domestic Vessel Safety, Crowd and Crisis Management) within six months of hire.
