Third Cook – Rotational Position on MV Saga X

About the role

The Third Cook supports the First Cook on the MV Saga X, a floatel vessel operating out of Squamish, BC. This full‑time rotational position follows a 28‑day on / 14‑day off schedule and offers an hourly wage of CAD 21.83 with extended health benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the First Cook with buffet and Grab‑&‑Go preparation, including ingredient handling and station setup.
• Prepare vegetables, salads, garnishes, raw meats, sandwiches, and reheatable meals.
• Grill and fry dishes under supervision, and serve, replenish, and clean buffet lines.
• Maintain inventory of dining supplies, coffee, tea, beverages, and ice‑cream.
• Perform basic and deep cleaning of galley areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Support storekeeper with receiving and organizing provisions in dry, cool, and frozen storerooms.

Required profile

• Culinary diploma or equivalent experience; 1+ year in a high‑volume kitchen.
• Strong communication, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays and to stay on board for at least 30 days per rotation.
• Ability to work in an English‑speaking team and pass drug, alcohol, and medical screenings.
• Willingness to obtain MED Domestic Vessel Safety and Crowd & Crisis Management certificates within six months.
